The History

Pronto was originated in 1980 with the vision of having a family restaurant offering high-quality pizzas along with high-quality Italian dishes with a unique wood-fired flavor. Today, 30 years later, the vision remains with Pronto still serving the neighbourhood with high-quality wood-fired dishes.


The Management

In July of 1994, Pronto was acquired by two brothers, Ramon and Jose Valverde, with an incredible combined 70 years experience in pizzas and fine Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. Ramon's resume includes 25 years as executive chef and general manager in an upscale Palo Alto restaurant featuring American, Italian, and Mediterranean cuisine; Jose's includes 20 years as a manager in an established Italian restaurant in Redwood City. Both are totally and enthusiastically committed to carrying on Pronto's vision and traditions.


The Mission

The Pronto Mission is to carry on the 30-year commitment to the vision and traditions unique to the restaurant. One of the traditions of Pronto is the great care and exactness in preparing our wood-fired pizzas and Italian dishes. Our meats, poultry, and seafood are of the finest quality and our farm fresh vegetables are mainly from carefully chosen local sources.
Another Pronto tradition is serving the local Redwood City area with fast takeout food capability. Drop-in and order a quick takeout dish or phone in your order and Pronto will start processing your order immediately and you can quickly pick up your order and be on your way.
